Pa Pa Joe's studio is a two-floor complex occupying what was initially a completely empty business unit. The studios and rehearsal rooms were planned and constructed to give an optimal use of the available space.

The recording studio itself was designed and purpose-built with full consultation from acoustic experts. Room dimensions were carefully specified, along with the wall, floor and ceiling materials. The room shape has been optimised for monitoring purposes. Appended to the actual mixing room are two additional and separate recording booths: one for vocal recording, and a larger one capable of recording ensembles of musicians.

At the heart of the studio machinary is a ProTools HD system with a DigiDesign 192 IO interface. A Mackie DB8 Digital Desk provides the mixing and routing functions. Logic 6 and Cubase SX2 are also available on the system. Additional software includes various virtual instruments including Spectrasonics Atmosphere, Stylus and Trilogy, plus many others.

Outboard modules include Korg Triton, Focusrite octoPre compressors, emagic amt8 midi interface and Alesis Quadrasynth.

The main 5.1 monitoring system is based on a a set of 5 Genelec 1031's plus a 7060 Subwoofer. Additional monitoring is provided by a pair of ADAM S4A's.

A Neumann U-87 provides the mike duties along with a few Shure SM-57's and 58's.
